University Honors College Mission Statement
The mission of the Honors College is:
- To recruit intellectually gifted students to the University at Buffalo.
- To create a small superb college community within an outstanding research university by:

Providing transforming life experiences via interactions inside and outside of the traditional classroom;

Fostering independent learners who will become outstanding citizens;

Promoting undergraduate research, internship, scholarship opportunities through faculty and staff mentoring;

Encouraging cross-disciplinary experiences which broaden the students’ perspectives;

Providing counseling and guidance to students throughout their careers as they make the transition to a post-graduate life;

Enhancing the intellectual climate of the University to help establish its reputation as an academic leader second to none
- To maintain direct contact with our alumni (via newsletters, magazines, phone, fax, email, reunions) throughout their lives to continue to support their careers.
