Internship or Practicum

• Departmental Course Number – 496.
• Correspondence from your site manager is required. It should detail your work responsibilities.
• You must complete a Contract for Co-Op/Internship (PDF).
• A final assessment, including a letter grade, from your site manager is required.
• You must complete the journal and reflection paper requirements (as per the Contract for Co-Op/Internship (PDF)).
• Course credits must appear on your transcript with a grade of “B” or better.
• May be for pay and would then include a 1 credit hour academic component.
• Written assignments for departmental internships or practicums must meet the minimum requirements of 1 typed page for every 5 hours of service for the journal and an 8–10 page reflective paper.
• TH 106 & 135 or 136 count as one experience.
• Any dance studio or theatrical production involving an audition would count as a practicum.
• The University Honors College offers UE 496 for students unable to utilize a department internship course.
• Students will receive 1 credit hour for every 45 hours worked.
