The world-renowned resources of the NIH and the outstanding teaching program in Immunology at UPenn combine to create a graduate training partnership unlike any other – The National Institutes of Health-University of Pennsylvania Advanced Immunology Scholars Program. The program sponsors 2 to 4 graduate students per year in an interdisciplinary curriculum designed to train outstanding and independent students in a combination of basic science and advanced research technologies to solve key research questions in the areas of immunology and infectious diseases. They have a special emphasis on applying advanced biological research techniques such as genomics, fluorescence and two photon microscopy, structural biology and other approaches to immunological questions.
Students must complete applications to both the University Pennsylvania and the NIH. For a more complete description of the program, details about the application process, and to complete the NIH application see the attached flyer and visit http://gpp.nih.gov/Applicants/ProspectiveStudents/AppInfoProspective.htm. There is no NIH application fee. For the University of Pennsylvania, the online application form can be found at http://www.med.upenn.edu/immun/.
