Position Summary:Â Â
Responsible for successful market analysis, market penetration and development of relationships with large corporations to achieve cancer control, income development and volunteer recruitment outcomes.
Will collaborate with Director of Special Events and Director of Corporate Relations to deliver American Cancer Society programs and services to major worksites; mobilizes volunteers and corporate participation in American Cancer Society’s premier events of Daffodil Days, and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer (MSABC) is the largest breast cancer walk in Western New York, with a $500,000.00 expected income and 10,000 walker participation.
Daffodil Days (DAFF) event, a high-profile large-scale fund- and awareness-raising campaign in the seven counties of Western New York with $260,000.00 expected income and 20,000 projected product sales. Daffodils Days involves the active participation of more than 1000 corporations, hospitals, schools, and government agencies in addition to 150+ volunteers.
Working with the Director of Special Events create pre-event county penetration analysis, update database, assist in the recruitment of volunteers and coordinate corporate participation building larger market penetration, as well as coordinating the delivery of product. Sales, Communication and Public Relations majors desired but not limited too.

Essential Functions:
• Successfully implement a special event action plan, which include Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and Daffodil Days.
• Build relationships with worksites to identify, develop and promote effective cancer control policies and wellness activities as well as sponsorships and underwriting.
• Ensure implementation of data collection for each income activity, including income/expense information and donor/volunteer records.
• Prepare pre-event and post event market analysis reports
• Create event Press Releases to entice new participation
• Work in a team environment to effectively represent the Society and its mission in the community.
Required Skills:
Proven success in sales, marketing and/or new business cultivation
Project oriented, dynamic, energetic, with demonstrated time management and multi-tasking ability
Strong knowledge of the Corporate environment
Proven interpersonal, verbal & communication skills, including telephone prospecting
Must be able to think strategically and execute detailed plans to completion
Strong constituent relationship management experience (build and leverage strategic relationships)
Computer literacy
Commitment to the mission of the American Cancer Society and help to make a difference in the lives of cancer patients
Reports to the Director of Special Events.
