UB Honors

Prospective tutors should have a 720+ on EITHER the Verbal/Critical Reading section OR the Math section of the SAT and, for verbal tutors, a 720+ on the SAT II: Writing or Writing section of the new SAT (or excellent grammar and writing skills).  We do strongly prefer candidates who have scored a 1450+ combined on the old SAT or 2150+ on the new SAT who can potentially work with all of the sections (Critical Reading, Math, and Writing). 

Candidates should have good communication and interpersonal skills, be outgoing and caring, and enjoy tutoring or teaching.  Prior tutoring experience is a bonus but not required.  You should be available on at least two or three weekdays after 3:30 pm and some time on the weekends, with a total availability of at least 12-18 hours a week.  Local Buffalo residents, sophomores and higher, and candidates with access to reliable transportation preferred.  Tutors will start in December/January (training will start very soon), and good tutors will most likely work 15-22 hours a week.  Paid training.  You MUST be responsible and reliable and MUST be able to commit to staying with the company and tutoring for a minimum number of hours per week through December 2007 (although we would love to have a great tutor stay for years).
