Political Science research assistant Spring 2008

Posted by jdudek on October 22, 2007 in Research Information and Opportunities

Professor Claude Welch of Political Science is looking for one or more research assistants during the spring semester, to help with a book he is completing. Students can receive credit through either his Department or the Honors Program.

The project focuses on how small, lesser-known international human rights NGOs have worked to mitigate – and hopefully eliminate – long-standing abuses. These include contemporary forms of slavery, institutionalized racism, discrimination based on descent, and impunity from prosecution for war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Persons who are interested should submit a résumé indicating relevant experience and providing the names of at least two faculty members or persons in the community highly familiar with your work. This should be both sent electronically [cwelch@buffalo.edu] and left at his office [417 Park]. These applications must be submitted by November 12, 2007.  Top candidates will be interviewed. If there are any questions, please get in touch with Professor Welch at 645-2251 x. 417.
