Student Research Opportunity

Job Description – Position in reproductive biology laboratory with focuses on protection of the ovary during chemotherapy and ovarian channel expression. Student will be given a research project within the scope of the lab. Possible techniques include immunohistochemistry, cell culture, Western blot, PCR, and ELISA. Animal work is also an important part of the research, so willingness to work with the animals is essential. Animal techniques include injections, euthanasia, and blood and tissue collection. Training in animal handling will be provided through the University at Buffalo.
Qualifications – Student should have biomedical research interest and strong science background. Preferably student will be of junior or senior standing. Prior research experience is helpful, but not necessary.
Availability – In order to complete certain experiments at least two consecutive days of availability are necessary. Hours and days are flexible. Students are also asked to make a long-term commitment to the lab (at least one academic year). Please only serious students with a vested interest in obtaining research experience.
