The Student Support Services Program
Posted by Jessica on October 28, 2009 in Tutoring, Workshops
The Student Support Services Program (SSS) in 215 Norton is a retention program at UB that serves students in any major. SSS offers tutoring, academic coaching, advising, mentoring, workshops and cultural events, laptop computers, and grant aid to eligible first- and second-year students. You can check SSS out on the Web at http://wings.buffalo.edu/vpaa/sss/, where you’ll also find an application. SSS is a federally funded program designed to serve first generation and/or lower-income students and/or students with disabilities. When students hear those eligibility criteria, many wrongly assume they won’t qualify. Students who don’t qualify for TAP or Pell could still qualify for SSS.
