In addition to a completed Performing and Creative Arts Scholarship application, a department application is required and can be obtained directly from the Department of Media Study. Applicants must submit a portfolio of no more than five separate works which may be in the same or different program categories: film, video, documentary, digital arts, interpretation, or other media. A brief description or explanation of submitted work(s) must be included with the portfolio. Applicants must explain what major contribution they made in any collaborative work they submit. A personal statement (500 words) that details creative strengths, personal goals, interest in media, and reasons for choosing Media Study at UB must also accompany the application. Two letters of recommendation should be sent under separate cover, and one of them should be from a teacher or instructor. Qualified candidates may be interviewed by phone or in person.
