Philanthropic support is essential in maintaining and enhancing the distinctive elements of an Honors education at UB.

Private funding from visionaries who know the value of an incomparable academic experience and the importance of attracting and retaining top students play a key role in transforming the Honors College and the entire University. We invite you to join fellow Honors College alumni and friends in supporting the UB Fund for the Honors College by giving today.

Here is how the the UB Fund for the Honors College has a direct impact on student scholarship.

Experiential learning opportunities.

Participating in diverse activities outside of the traditional classroom, students are able to build NACE competencies* that help form career readiness including: Critical thinking/problem solving, oral/written communications, teamwork/collaboration, digital technology application, leadership, global/intercultural fluency and professionalism/work ethic.

Academic enrichment activities.

Providing support for student participation in academic enhancing activities such as dance intensives, field schools and alternative break programs enable students to transfer skills and knowledge gained in the classroom to new a context.

Conferences.

Allowing students to attend national professional conferences where they can present their research and meet with fellow students and professionals in their desired field of study.

Internships.

Giving funding to Honors scholars who obtain valuable, unpaid internships in their field of study or industry. Due to financial constraints, students often forego excellent internship opportunities when a stipend is not provided by the sponsoring entity. Internship grants help to bridge the financial gap and afford the opportunity for meaningful, practical experience.

Research and creative projects.

Working closely with faculty, students have the opportunity to develop their own research and creative projects during their undergraduate career. These funds provide grants that allow students to excel and represent UB in cutting-edge research both nationally and internationally.

Study abroad.

Offering students invaluable academic and life experiences. Support helps to defray travel expenses and/or tuition.
